Chelsea ‘discuss using two players’ in Joao Felix swap transfer deal

Chelsea have reportedly reached out to Atletico Madrid to discuss the prospect of a swap deal for Joao Felix after learning the La Liga giants are interested in signing Marc Cucurella and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The Blues are open to bringing the Portuguese attacker back to Stamford Bridge this summer when he is due to return to the Wanda Metropolitano after six months in west London.

It has been a mixed time for Felix in the Premier League since his January loan switch after he received a straight red card on his Chelsea debut against Fulham following a lunge on Kenny Tete.

The Portugal international had been a staple under Graham Potter after serving his three-match suspension but the 23-year-old has lost his place in the side since the appointment of caretaker boss Frank Lampard.

Nonetheless, there is Felix could yet come good and fulfil his potential at Stamford Bridge under Mauricio Pochettino, who looks increasingly likely to be confirmed as the club’s next manager.

Pochettino is renowned for his attacking style of play while he also built his core around young players during his exceptional spell with Tottenham.
