Chelsea are facing some major exits over the next six months with Cesar Azpilicueta and Antonio Rudiger while Christian Pulisic is eyeing an exit. Barcelona are interested in all three to give Thomas Tuchel a transfer problem.
Chelsea are bracing themselves for a triple exit at the hands of Barcelona, who are making their January plans.
New boss Xavi has some big plans ahead of the transfer window after a miserable start to the season that saw Ronald Koeman sacked.
But with Los Cules strapped for cash, they are raiding the bargain bin and Chelsea have some big stars up for grabs.
According to Mundo Deportivo, two of them include players that are set to see their contracts expire at the end of the season.
Antonio Rudiger is one of the top names on Barca’s list, who looks set to leave after failing to find any agreement with Stamford Bridge chiefs.
Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are also in the hunt for the German, who could be offered wages as much as £400,000-a-week.
Cesar Azpilicueta will also see his contract expire while the Blues captain has fallen down the pecking order under Thomas Tuchel.
Barcelona are desperate to bolster their defence and could offer the Spaniard a return to his home country and a first-team slot.
Mundo Deportivo further report that Azpilicueta has the World Cup to think about next season and wants to make it into the Spain squad and that could influence his thinking over his next move.
The third player on Xavi’s shortlist is Pulisic, a winger that has long been on the former midfielder’s mind.
The Barca boss is keen on improving his options out wide while the United States international is another that has been marginalised in recent weeks.
Tuchel has preferred the likes of Callum Hudson-Odoi, Hakim Ziyech and Mason Mount to the 23-year-old, who he coached at Borussia Dortmund.
While Chelsea would not entertain a low offer, it remains to be seen how the La Liga giants could afford such a transfer.
Nevertheless, all three players are on Barcelona’s wish list this January while the likes of Kingsley Coman, Jesse Lingard and Ferran Torres have also been linked.
