Chelsea boss Frank Lampard may finally get transfer wish in January with decision made

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard may have a few more decisions he wants to make in the January transfer window and one move might already be on the cards. After a sluggish start to the league, Chelsea have looked back on tracks in recent weeks.

They’re currently on a four-game winning streak in all competitions with 14 goals scored and just one conceded.

The summer signings have begun to show their talents with Timo Werner already on eight for the season.

Hakim Ziyech has also looked sharp since making his debut while both Ben Chilwell and Thiago Silva have add some solidity to the back line.

In goal, Edouard Mendy has established himself as the first-choice option.

He’s kept six clean sheets in seven games so far having joined from Rennes in the summer.

Kepa Arrizabalaga now faces a tough battle to regain his place in the starting line up.

The Spaniard fell out of favour with Lampard last season with reports suggesting the Chelsea boss was desperate to offload him in the summer.

No offers were forthcoming though with Kepa remaining at the club.

But that looks likely to change in the New Year with The Sun reporting Kepa wants to leave on loan.

It is claimed that Kepa will accept a payout to leave Chelsea in January in order to try and win his place back with the Spain national squad.

He was the No 1 choice last year for Spain, but he’s fallen down to third choice recently.

Luis Enrique has already hinted that Kepa needs to be playing regular football in order to regain his spot as Spain’s No 1.

Kepa has come under fire this season in his limited appearances after making a number of catastrophic errors.

But former Chelsea goalkeeper Asmir Begovic believes the 26-year-old can turn his form around with a move away from Stamford Bridge.

“Can Kepa still prove everybody wrong? Possibly. I think Kepa is a really good goalkeeper, he played really well in Spain before his move to Chelsea and it’s obviously been a bit of a tricky time for him,” he said on talkSPORT.

“He’s got really good quality and I’m sure he’ll be a huge success, whether it’s at Chelsea or somewhere else.

“When you have that equality it’s only going to be a matter of time before things turn around for him again in a positive way.”
