Barcelona star Ansu Fati breaks Real Madrid legend Raul's Clasico record

Ansu Fati became the youngest scorer in Clasico history when he poached Barcelona’s early equaliser in Saturday’s heavyweight showdown against Real Madrid.

The visitors to Camp Nou, who came into the fixture on the back of damaging back-to-back defeats, took a surprise lead in the fifth minute when Barcelona failed to track the run of Federico Valverde and the Uruguay international finished smartly having latched onto Karim Benzema’s perfect pass.

Real’s lead, however, lasted less than three minutes with Jordi Alba, back in the starting line-up following an injury enforced absence, crossed low for Fati who diverted the ball past Thibaut Courtois with a clever near post finish.

At just 17 years and 357 days, the teenager became the youngest-ever goalscorer in the history of the fixture between Spains’ two must prestigious clubs.

The record was previously held by the legendary Raul who was 18 years and 95 days when he scored against Barcelona in La Liga for the first time.
