Arsenal are believed to have renewed their interest in Lyon star Houssem Aouar, with some reports this week claiming the Premier League side had already made a bid. Here, Express Sport looks at the exciting XI Mikel Arteta could field next season if the Gunners boss lands his targets in the transfer window.
Goalkeeper – Ramsdale
Arsenal are expected to bid for England keeper Aaron Ramsdale after Sunday’s Euro 2020 final.
The 23-year-old made a whopping 147 saves for Sheffield United in the top flight last term – bettered only by West Brom’s Sam Johnstone with 166.
Bernd Leno could be on the move this summer – but if not he could face a battle with Ramsdale for the No1 spot.
That’s if the Gunners can prise him away from Bramall Lane, with the Blades reportedly valuing their keeper at £40m.

Defence – Muldur, White, Gabriel, Tierney
Arsenal are still hopeful of signing Ben White after having two bids rejected by his club Brighton.
The England centre-back could be partnered by either Gabriel Magalhaes or Pablo Mari, with either of the two left-footers providing balance at the heart of the defence.
Kieran Tierney will of course keep his place at left-back after he was one of Arsenal’s best players last season.
And the Gunners could sign another marauding full-back on the opposite flank, having been linked with a move for Sassuolo’s attacking right-back Mert Muldur.
Muldur can also play as a left-back and so could provide cover for Tierney, although Arsenal are expected to sign Benfica’s Nuno Tavares as the Scotland international’s deputy.
Midfield – Partey, Lokonga, Aouar
Albert Sambi Lokonga is expected to be first through the door at Arsenal this summer after impressing for Anderlecht over the past two seasons.
He would likely partner Thomas Partey in midfield, with Granit Xhaka potentiall set to join Jose Mourinho’s Roma.
Arsenal have been also linked with a move for Italy star Manuel Locatelli, but Juventus are favourites to sign the Sassuolo midfielder.
And exciting attacker Aouar would slot into the No10 role vacated by Martin Odegaard – although he would face competition for the position from impressive youngster Emile Smith Rowe.
Attack – Saka, Aubameyang, Sterling
Arsenal may be wishing Raheem Sterling hadn’t played so well at Euro 2020.
The Manchester City forward was linked with a move to the Gunners after dropping down the pecking order at the Etihad last season.
But his scintillating performances for the Three Lions mean his stock has risen again – making it difficult for Arteta’s side to be able to sign him.
Premier League done deals: Every confirmed transfer in the top flight
Arsenal fans can count on having another exciting England star in their attack, with Bukayo Saka likely to nail down a place on the right flank.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang would lead the front line if Alexandre Lacazette moves on – with Folarin Balogun expected to push for a place.
And if the Gunners could land Sterling it would make for a dream front line – but if not then Aubameyang, Nicolas Pepe or Gabriel Martinelli would play on the left.
