Arsenal’s transfer business appears to be done and the Gunners now have a squad that can, at the very least, compete for silverware under Mikel Arteta this season.
The deadline day arrival of Thomas Partey from Atletico Madrid was the cherry on top of a successful international window, and fans will be desperate to see the Ghana international in action.
Premier League clubs can, however, still do business with sides in the Football League until October 16, and that may mean one or two Arsenal players leave on loan. The Gunners also have to sort out the future of Mesut Ozil, who was omitted from the club’s Europa League squad.
With all that in mind, here are the latest Arsenal transfer stories.
Aouar best replacement for Ozil
Arsenal failed to clinch the signing of Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar this summer, but Spurs icon David Ginola believes the Frenchman should top the Gunners’ transfer wish list and the perfect replacement for Ozil.
“He’s definitely the type of player that Arsenal fans would love to watch in the middle of the park, that’s for sure,” Ginola told Sky Sports.
“If he wants to stay at Lyon, that’s his concern, he’s still a young player. To replace Ozil, I think he’s the best choice for Arsenal.”

Arsenal centre-back William Saliba could be sent out on loan to a Championship club in the coming
days, reports ESPN.
The Gunners signed Saliba last summer before sending the defender back on loan to St-Etienne. And while fans expected the French teenager to feature this season, the signing of Gabriel Magalhaes has pushed him down the pecking order.
The international transfer window may be closed, but Premier League clubs can still do business with English Football League sides, and the report suggests Brentford and Watford could be possible destinations.
Sources told ESPN Arteta wants Saliba to mature and improve his set-piece defending before playing for the first team.

Partey sends farewell message to Atleti fans
Arsenal's £45million Deadline Day signing Thomas Partey has sent a message to former club Atletico Madrid after leaving the Spanish side at the last minute.
“Hi guys, thanks so much for the love and for the message I have received. I can’t wait to be part of you guys, I can’t wait to join the team," he said on Twitter.
“It’s a great feeling to be part of a family like this. Thanks so much to everyone for the love, I feel so grateful and I feel so amazed to be part of you. I can’t wait to join you guys.
“And don’t forget, no Thomas, No Partey!”
