Emi Buendia will be back among the Premier League’s elite next season, although it’s uncertain as to whether that will be with promoted Norwich or known admirers Arsenal.
The Gunners have been frequently linked with a move for the playmaker and are reportedly in talks with Buendia, who recently received his first call-up to Argentina’s senior squad.
In the event the 24-year-old does complete a move to north London this summer, he’ll be taking glamorous partner Claudia with him.
Details of the couple’s relationship are few and far between, but Buendia started appearing in Claudia’s Instagram posts around mid-2016 when he was still on the books at Getafe.
The South American spent the 2017/18 season on loan with Cultural Leonesa before he moved to England with Norwich, where he has enjoyed the best football of his career thus far.
Buendia starred as one of the more impressive components in a Canaries side that was relegated from the Premier League in 2020, when he contributed one paltry goal to their survival efforts.
But the winger was back to his best as Daniel Farke’s men made an immediate return to England’s first tier, scoring 15 goals and recording 17 assists to help Norwich top the Championship table.
Claudia’s Instagram profile is enough to make most followers jealous, often showcasing a jet-set lifestyle replete with sun-kissed snaps from a host of beach and pool-side locales.
However, the theme of her social media has moved more in the direction of family since the couple welcomed their two young sons, Thiago and Giovanni, into the world.
The creative options at the Emirates Stadium may need some restocking this summer as Martin Odegaard and Dani Ceballos each look set to rejoin Real Madrid when their loans expire.
Manager Mikel Arteta recently told reporters he was in consistent contact with the club’s board regarding this summer’s recruitment pledge: “We've been sitting down the whole year. We've been in constant communication and things will change, some things will stick to the plan that we already had and some other things will come out.
“But we sit down very, very regularly to talk about those things.”
Arsenal’s failure to qualify for the Champions League or Europa League next season is likely to impact their transfer prospects.
However, Norwich star Buendia is one target whose decision may not be as heavily influenced by their absence from Europe’s top competitions.
Claudia made the move to England alongside Buendia when he left Getafe almost three years ago, and the Arsenal links serve as recognition of his continued rise since then.
The pair will open themselves to a new legion of supporters in the event he moves to the Emirates Stadium this summer, while Claudia’s follower count is also liable to soar in that event.

Buendia will feature alongside the likes of Lionel Messi and Sergio Aguero as Argentina resume their efforts to secure a place at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar next month.
The former Spain under-19 international will hope to earn his senior debut for La Albiceleste when they host Chile in the latest leg of their CONMEBOL qualifying campaign on Thursday.
