Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang would apparently be willing to play for “practically free” if he secures a deadline day move to Barcelona. Aubameyang is paid mega-money by the Gunners but is ready to make a huge financial sacrifice to force through his move to the Catalans.
Aubameyang was once the Arsenal darling as he became the side’s star player following his £56million move from Borussia Dortmund four years ago.
In the second half of the 2017/18 campaign, the Gabon international found the back of the net 10 times in 13 Premier League games.
His 31 goals in all competitions during his first full season at the Emirates helped the Gunners reach the final of the Europa League, where they lost to Chelsea.
And during the 2019/20 campaign he notched another 29 times as Mikel Arteta’s side got their revenge on the Blues by defeating them in the FA Cup final.
Aubameyang put pen-to-paper on a new contract in the capital in September 2020 – but he has failed to hit his previous heights ever since.

Last season he still managed to bag 15 goals, despite his struggles, but things have turned bleak this campaign.
The 32-year-old started the season in poor form as Arsenal lost their first three matches.
And following a disciplinary breach before Christmas, the player was stripped of the captaincy and banished from the team. He hasn’t appeared for the Gunners since.
Aubameyang will surely be desperate to end his Arsenal nightmare – and Barca are keen to take him to the Nou Camp.

His staggering wages would usually be a stumbling block. The ace is reported to be earning £250,000 a week at Arsenal plus another £100,000 as loyalty payments and bonuses.
Barca are in a dire financial situation and couldn’t afford to pay anywhere near those wages for the player.
But, according to Spanish publication Sport, Aubameyang would be willing to give up a very important part of his salary if he gets his big move. And that could pave the way for his Arsenal exit.
The Gunners now apparently hold the key and, if they agree to a deal, Aubameyang could soon be plying his trade for the Catalan giants.
Barcelona have endured their own struggles this season and are a staggering 15 points behind Real Madrid in the La Liga table.
They were also knocked out of the Champions League before Christmas after winning just two of their group matches and finishing behind Bayern Munich and Benfica.
