Arsenal are looking at ex-Fulham and Celtic striker Moussa Dembele as a potential replacement for Alexandre Lacazette.

The Gunners are set for a big summer in the transfer market after missing out on European football for the first time since 1995.

Mikel Arteta will embark on a major rebuild, and that could mean the end of the road for a number of stars – including Lacazette.

The Frenchman has one year left on his current deal and Arsenal are ready to cash in rather than see him leave for free next summer.

His departure would leave Arsenal short of options up front, but one of his fellow countrymen could fill the void that would be left by the 30-year-old's exit.

According to The Telegraph, the Gunners could replace Lacazette with Lyon striker Dembele.

Dembele spent the second half of last season on loan at Atletico Madrid but was unable to make an impact at the Wanda Metropolitano.

He made just seven appearances for Diego Simeone’s title-winning side, failing to score a single goal.

His overall record this season doesn’t read much better, with Dembele finding the net just once in 23 appearances overall.

Do you think Arsenal should spend £30million on Moussa Dembele? Let us know in the comments section.

Atletico can make the Frenchman’s move permanent for £30million, but that now seems unlikely due to his struggles in front of goal.

The 24-year-old’s issues could allow Arsenal to swoop in and rescue the career of a striker who showed so much promise prior to last season.

Dembele scored 20 goals during the 2019/20 season, including a famous double against Man City in the quarter-final of the Champions League.
