Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Anderlecht midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga as the club prepares for the possibility of Granit Xhaka leaving this summer. The Gunners could sign Sambi Lokonga for as little as £12.95million. The news comes as Arsenal look set to complete the signings of two goalkeepers.

Xhaka has been a mainstay for Arsenal since his arrival from Borussia Monchengladbach in the summer of 2016.

However, the Switzerland international is heavily linked with a move away from the club.

Former Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho reportedly wants to take Xhaka to the Serie A club.

Arsenal are one of several Premier League sides interested in signing Brighton ace Yves Bissouma.

However, a cheaper alternative to Bissouma would be that of Sambi Lokonga.

Belgian outlet Nieuwsblad says Arsenal are following Sambi Lokonga ‘intensively’.

The report claims Arsenal were interested in the player in 2019 before he signed a new contract with Anderlecht.

Arsenal are keen to breathe new life into their squad this summer and Sambi Lokonga is on their agenda.

Sambi Lokonga, who is part of Belgium’s reserve squad list for Euro 2020, would cost between £12.95m (€15m) and £17.26m (€20m).

Speaking about his future last month, the 21-year-old insisted he was ready to make a step up in his career.

“It will all have to become apparent in the coming weeks, but it may well be that I am leaving,” he said.

“I feel ready for a higher level and I am looking forward to it. We shall see. I only go if it concerns a club that is clearly better than Anderlecht.

“Maybe I am leaving, but at the same time I am not in a hurry to leave.

“Only if all the ingredients are present, it may be possible to leave.”

Meanwhile, Arsenal are reportedly closing in on deals to sign two goalkeepers.

Dutch outlet NOS claim a deal which would see Ajax stopper Andre Onana move to the Emirates is ‘imminent’.

Arsenal could secure the signing of Onana for between £5m and £8m.

The Sun claims that Brighton goalkeeper Mat Ryan is also set to join on a free transfer.

Ryan spent the second half of the season on loan at Arsenal, making three appearances.

The arrival of Onana and Ryan would throw doubt over the long-term future of current Arsenal No 1 Bernd Leno.

Leno has two years remaining on his deal with the north London club.
