Anthony Martial told of world-class talent and need to become Man Utd ‘killer’

Manchester United forward Anthony Martial needs to become even more ruthless in front of goal.

That’s according to former Old Trafford favourite Louis Saha, who reckons the 24-year-old can get even better.

The France international moved to the Premier League from Monaco in 2015 and fans had high expectations.

But his United career has so far struggled to hit top gear after a tumultuous few seasons at the Premier League heavyweights.

This term Martial is starting to look the real deal, though.

He’s already racked up 17 goals in 32 appearances and scored a wonder goal against Watford last weekend.

However, Saha has urged his compatriot to be more prolific if he wants to become an elite player.

"Martial is a talented player and has everything needed to be world class. He can score goals and build play," Saha told the Manchester Evening News .

"He now has to be focused on things that will definitely work.

“It’s not just about having a style and being nice to look at it.

"He needs to be more of a killer and I think he has done that in the last few games.

“Definitely, since coming back from injury, there has been an improvement.

"You have to pick your moments and be decisive and I think he has done well, it’s not easy."

BBC pundit Grath Crooks says it’s crucial that supporters keep backing Marital.

“Make no mistake, Martial seems to have taken over from former striker Romelu Lukaku as United's whipping boy,” he said.

“The France forward may be slightly temperamental, but he can play.

“If United fans want to get the best out of him, their boo-boys need to treat him with care.”
