Liverpool defender Andy Robertson had a hilarious reaction to James Milner being given the Man of the Match award against Newcastle on Saturday.
The two veterans starred as the Reds secured a narrow 1-0 victory away at St James’ Park in the Premier League. It came after a stunning solo effort by Naby Keita, who took the lead for Liverpool 19 minutes in.
That allowed Jurgen Klopp’s side to keep up the pressure on league leaders Manchester City by securing another vital three points. And it was long-time midfield stalwart Milner, 36, who was crowned the game’s top player after his colossal performance.
Milner and full-back Robertson were interviewed together post-match by BT Sport when the former was confirmed Man of the Match. But the announcement was met with a surprised look by the Scotland captain.
Retired England international Milner gave a smirk and raised his eyebrows as he was informed. And Robertson had to double take before uttering: “Oooh.”
The defender then said to Milner: “Well done, you James!” in a cheeky tone.

Liverpool are still just one point behind Man City in the Premier League with just four games left to play. They next face an in-form Tottenham side on Saturday, before taking on Aston Villa, Southampton and Wolves in the final three games of the season.
The Reds are also within touching distance of more Champions League glory, taking on Villarreal away from home on Tuesday while 2-0 up on aggregate. They could meet Pep Guardiola’s City in the final with Europe’s two top sides potentially battling it out for yet another major trophy.
