Brazilian model and journalist Kelly Piquet has more than one connection to the sport of Formula One – being the daughter of a legend and having a child with another driver before dating Max Verstappen.
The 32-year-old, who begun handling social media for Formula E back in 2015, has been a regular at races during her adult life, and that started thanks to her famous father.
Nelson Piquet won three World Drivers' Championships between 1981 and 1987, racing the first two with Brabham and a Ford engine before switching to Williams with a Honda in his final triumph.
Known for his playboy lifestyle away from the track, Nelson has seven children, Kelly coming from his second marriage to Dutchwoman Sylvia Tamsma, he is currently with Vivianne de Souza Leao.
Following that deep connection to the motorsport, Kelly met Russian racing driver Daniil Kvyat, with whom she shares daughter Penelope, who was born in 2019.
The following year, following a breakup, she began dating Dutch youngster Max Verstappen, who is nine years her junior at 23 and currently leading the drivers rankings.
Despite his close connection to F1 icon Nelson, Max said in June that he would not be asking for any advice as he looks to extend his 32 point lead over Lewis Hamilton this season.
He said: "Of course he’s a legend in Formula 1. It is my own career.

"I make my own choices and I will never compare myself to other drivers. That just suits me better."
In another chat with Servus TV, Verstappen revealed in June that he used to be hot headed, but has calmed down during his relationship with Kelly.
He said: "From [the age of] 17 to 23, things change.
"This is completely normal. Before I used to yell. Now, on the other hand, I am more relaxed."
Adding of Kelly's father, and also his own: "I spoke with Nelson briefly after the victory in Monaco.
"But it is not about giving me advice, I have to find my own way. I also talk to my father Jos every day.
"I did everything with him, without him I would not be here."
While Kelly has remained quiet on her relationships aside from regular Instagram snaps, another passion for her is the social media side of Formula E, which she spoke about in 2016.
She said: “I am now working full time for Formula E as social media strategist and content creator. I focus on Instagram and Twitter, and do all Snapchat content.
“Social Media is essential to Formula E because it reaches our target demographic, this being the coveted millennial demographic, in addition to being an essential tool to promote and distinguish our championship.
"Sports teams and leagues are better positioned than ever before by taking advantage of the connected world to grow their brands and reach new audiences.
"There is an emotional bond contained in sports culture combined with the marketability and peak interest around live sports events – which is why we are now heavily concentrating on Snapchat for example.”
