Things are going well on and off track for F1 star Alex Albon, who will remain with Williams for the 2023 season, it has been confirmed.

Albon was a hot prospect as he came through the Red Bull stable, starting out with AlphaTauri before graduating to the main team as a replacement for Pierre Gasly. Like Gasly, Albon was put to the sword by teammate Max Verstappen in 2020 and lost his drive and sat out 2021, although he remained a Red Bull-affiliated driver.

The British-born Thai driver has bounced back in style, impressing with backmarkers Williams over the first half of this season after replacing Mercedes-bound George Russell. He has all three of Williams' constructors' championship points so far.

And Albon’s love life seems to be going from strength to strength too. The 26-year-old has been dating Chinese golfer Lily Muni, a pro on the LPGA Tour, since 2019.

The pair reportedly met via social media. After watching the hit Netflix series Drive to Survive, Muni began following several F1 drivers, including Albon. Meanwhile, at the same time, Albon was said to have been developing an interest in golf, with the pair meeting in person in Los Angeles.

Born in Chengdu, Sichuan, Muni emigrated to Vancover, Canada and then to San Diego in the US. She was introduced to golf by her father at the age of five and became a pro after her first year at the University of Southern California, aged 19.

Muni claimed her first Symetra Tour win in July 2018, and won the eight-round LPGA Q-Series in 2019 to secure her 2020 LPGA Tour membership. Now 23, Muni has appeared in women’s golf majors, finishing tied 60th at PGA Championship this year and the tied 53rd at the US Open back in 2015.

The pair appeared to be loved up, regularly posting smoochy pictures together on Instagram and the continuation of Albon’s time with Williams gives them another reason to celebrate.
