NHL Draft 2020: Alex Trebek announces Senators third overall pick Tim Stutzle

This famous Canadian announced the Ottawa Senators’ third overall pick of the 2020 NHL Draft.

Who is Alex Trebek? That is correct.

In a surprise move, NHL commissioner Gary Bettman on Tuesday announced that “The Senators have enlisted the services of a special guest who also happens to be a graduate of the University of Ottawa.”

Then, that all too familiar “Jeopardy!” music came on before the Senators’ third overall pick of the draft was revealed:

“Thank you, Johnny. Welcome to ‘Jeopardy!,'” Trebek said. “Our category today is the NHL. And here is the clue for you: With the third pick in the 2020 NHL Draft, the Ottawa Senators choose this player.”

“The correct response? Who is Tim Stutzle.”

It was a nice touch for the youngster, a center from Germany who is great with the puck and who brings elite hands, speed, hockey sense and IQ to a young and talented Senators roster.

Trebek, a native of Sudbury, Ontario — which is where No. 2 overall pick Quinton Byfield plays for the Wolves — graduated from the University of Ottawa in 1961. The long-time host of “Jeopardy!” has been battling stage 4 pancreatic cancer.
