Week 3 of the XFL season is here, and a clear line has been drawn between the league’s haves and the have-nots — one that could become even more pronounced in Sunday’s games.
First up is the matchup between the New York Guardians and St. Louis BattleHawks in a battle for second place in the XFL East. Both teams are coming off losses, though St. Louis at least was competitive in a 28-24 loss to the Houston Roughnecks (now 3-0); New York was dismantled in a Week 2 loss against the East-leading DC Defenders in a game where the offense — especially quarterback Matt McGloin — struggled mightily.
XFL WEEK 3: Odds, picks and predictions
The DC Defenders and Los Angeles Wildcats will round out XFL Week 3 play at 6 p.m. On paper, it seems as if the 2-0 Defenders will have no problem against the winless Wildcats, especially after receiver Nelson Spruce made several big plays in a 25-18 loss to the Dallas Renegades in Week 2. Can Cardale Jones (39 of 63 passing, 499 yards, four touchdowns to one interception) help keep the Defenders undefeated?
