Week 6 Fantasy Football Tight End Rankings

Once bye weeks start to kick in, the tight end position becomes even more difficult for fantasy football owners to navigate. In Week 6, owners will be without three usual starters, Darren Waller, Hunter Henry, and Jared Cook, as well as streaming option Greg Olsen. Mark Andrews, Travis Kelce, and George Kittle continue to hold down the top of our Week 6 fantasy TE rankings, but if you don’t have one of them, you might be scrambling this week.

Luckily, a couple of mid-tier options are returning from bye weeks. T.J. Hockenson has been, for the most part, a solid starter for the owners who drafted him late, and the Lions get a favorable matchup with the Jaguars in Week 6. He can be trusted. Robert Tonyan (@ Buccaneers) is a bit more of a risk, but he has caught five TDs in his past three games. We’re not sold on Tonyan’s long-term value, but he looks like a good-enough option this week.

The best streamer of the week is Eric Ebron, who has a fantastic matchup against a Browns defense that entered Week 5 allowing the fifth-most fantasy points per game against TEs. Other top options include Jordan Akins (@ Titans), Trey Burton (vs. Bengals), and Kyle Rudolph/Irv Smith Jr. (vs. Falcons). The former two may be better for PPR than some of the other available options, while Rudolph and Smith are both more of boom-or-bust TD threats.

The other storyline to watch this week will be the health of Noah Fant (knee). The Broncos’ tight end was set to miss Monday night’s game against the Patriots before it was postponed, but given that he had a week-to-week designation, he could see an uptick in practice opportunities if all goes well this week. We won’t bank on him playing — and thus, he will not be included in these rankings just yet — but Fant’s owners should keep an eye on him. If he is unavailable, feel free to grab one of the aforementioned streamers.
