Tyson Fury CONFIRMS new Anthony Joshua talks and reveals contract offer

Tyson Fury says talks to fight Anthony Joshua in September at Wembley are back underway with a draft contract sent out this week.

Negotiations that collapsed last year have resumed with hopes to stage one of the biggest fights in the history of British boxing back in the UK this autumn.

Fury has now confirmed the fight is back on the table, inviting Joshua to agree a deal as quickly as possible.

‘A few days ago I sent a draft contract to Anthony Joshua for a fight in September at Wembley Stadium,’ Fury wrote in Instagram.

‘It is a fight that everyone wants to see including myself. Come on AJ let’s give the world what they want to see.

‘This time I’m not going to make a million vids and keeping putting pressure on. The ball is now on your side.’

Fury is eager to return to the ring this summer having not fought since his dominant victory over Derek Chisora at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last December.

Joshua meanwhile fought in April, securing a points win over Jermaine Franklin in what was his first fight under new trainer Derrick James.

Fury’s team have been actively seeking a summer opponent for the WBC heavyweight champion while Joshua is back in training camp, also hoping to fight again in the coming months.

Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn and George Warren of Queensberry Promotions are understood to have picked up negotiations that collapsed last year, with Fury instructing his team to push for a fight with ‘AJ’.

Fury vs Joshua fight fell through in the summer of 2021 while Joshua was still world champion, thwarted by Deontay Wilder’s successful arbitration case to force a third fight against the ‘The Gypsy King’.

Following the Olympian’s second successive defeat to Usyk last year, Fury offered Joshua a shot at his WBC title last September with Joshua agreeing to a 60-40 split in the champion’s favour but parties were unable to agree on other terms.
