A mixed martial arts fighter in Belarus left his opponent on the floor during their weigh in last weekend after catching him with a flying knee to the face.
The two fighters were facing off ahead of their bout at the Zames Fight Club 3 event in the capital city of Minsk before one of the fighters became aggressive.
As his opponent walked towards him, the fighter in grey and white could be seen steadying himself for the attack before jumping and kneeing his opponent clean in the face.
With his opponent knocked back, the perpetrator appeared ready to continue his attack before security stepped in.
In footage shared by RT Sports, the aggressor can be seen reaching for his opponents head as he falls backwards and pulling his arm back ready to strike his rival.
Viewers were left horrified by the attack and fans have called for the fighter to be banned for life for his seemingly unprovoked attack.
While the savage attack in Belarus has shocked fans, fighters losing their cool during weigh-ins is not an uncommon occurrence in combat sports.
The usually cool, calm and collected Anthony Joshua was uncharacteristically agitated ahead of his bout with Kubrat Pulev in December 2020 as the pair faced off at the weigh in.
Should the attacking fighter be handed a lifetime ban from MMA for his actions? Let us know in the comments section below.
Joshua put his hand on Pulev's shoulder as tensions flared but the situation did not escalate any further than an exchange of insults between the heavyweights.
Things became a lot more heated when former MMA fighter Paige VanZant made her bare-knuckle boxing debut in February of this year.
Ahead of her defeat to Britain Hart, the former UFC member lunged for her opponent as they faced off at the weigh-in and punched her in the throat before security restrained the pair.
