MMA fighter breaks his leg during brutal KO kick to opponents head

An MMA fighter broke his leg after delivering a brutal KO kick to his opponent's head.

Dylan Kiskila clashed with Kai Duque in an amateur bout under the promotion Captains Fight Club, which ended in horrific circumstances.

The bout marked Kiskila's debut under the promotion, but now he will have to take some time out to nurse his injury.

The American landed an emphatic blow to his opponent Duque and knocked him out, but after landing the picture perfect strike, his leg collapsed underneath him.

Quickly after realising he had sustained a serious injury, Kiskila remained calm and gestured to his corner that he had suffered a serious injury.

It was a bitter sweet experience for the 29-year-old, who secured an emphatic win but now faces up to a year out of action and faces an uphill battle if wants to turn pro.

MMA Fighting have reported that Kiskila sustained the same injury asConor McGregordid during his UFC 264 trilogy loss to Dustin Poirier earlier in the year.

Although he's begun training again, the Irishman still faces a long period outside the octagon, and is not expected to return until spring next year.

Speaking of Poirier, McGregor is eyeing a fourth fight with the American after revealing he was already injured when he suffered a horrific leg break in their trilogy fight.

The formerUFCdouble-weight champion initially beat Poirier in 2014 but lost the rematch after being brutally knocked-out by the American in January.

And now the Irishman, not one to hold back from trash-talking, has claimed he knew his leg was fragile prior to the trilogy fight, before teasing yet another grudge match against his bitter rival.

Responding to a comment on Twitter, McGregor said: "In my last camp I’d a severely damaged left leg.

"Many of my sessions consisted of starting in open guard bottom. And staying there. Full rounds remaining on bottom.

"Make no mistake they are not looking forward to what is coming. I will be back and it will be settled. Once and for all."
