McGregor in Twitter spat with ex-UFC star who brands him a ‘rich little weirdo’

UFC star Conor McGregor is involved in a social media spat with former fighter Chael Sonnen who has branded the Irishman as a 'little rich weirdo'.

The retired American made the claim live on his ESPN series, the Chael Sonnen Show With Jorge Sedano.

Sonnen has taken issue with some of the recent Twitter posts from the "Notorious", with McGregor often deleting tweets shortly after sending them.

He said: "Conor is on the verge of becoming а little rich weirdo."

"It's the last thing I wanted for him, he's posting things, then deleting them.

"Conor isn't going to step in with Mаx [Holloway] any more than he was with the guy from last week, the week before, or whoever he pulls out of his hat for next week.

"He'll have to take care of himself. I've got to give the troll everything I've got.

"As а former troll, I understand. If they're in the UFC, you didn't step foot in it, you didn't throw а single punch, and you can steal а headline on ESPN+, you're doing something right.

Now McGregor has hit back at Sonnen accusing the American of hypocrisy.

He tweeted: "Says the little broke weirdo hahahahhahaha," to his nine million following.

Sonnen responded: "It's not too late to stay off my radar Just put down the shot-glass of awful bottom-shelf whiskey, turn off your phone, and back outta the big-boy saloon niiiice n' sloooow…"

McGregor replied by mocking Sonnen's YouTube career.

He said: "Just set up the tripod, in the corner of your boxroom, and tell your 2 views the promo code for the window sheen."
