Conor McGregor has sent a chilling warning to Dustin Poirier ahead of their trilogy bout next weekend – "three fights against me is an early grave".
McGregor is set to face Poirier for a third time at UFC 264, where he will be seeking revenge after suffering the first knockout defeat of his career against the American back in January.
The score between the pair is now locked at 1-1, with the winner of their rubber match on July 10 expected to challenge new UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira next.
And just over a week out from that fight, McGregor is supremely confident his hand will be raised.
The former two-weight UFC champion has issued his rival a warning ahead of the trilogy bout, posting on Twitter: "3 fights against me for any man is an early grave. God bless".
McGregor gained plaudits for his more reserved nature in the lead-up to his rematch with Poirier in January, ditching his usual trash talk and mind games for some newfound decorum.

But should he revert back to type for what promises to be a crucial outing in his MMA career, Poirier insists he will not be fazed in the slightest.
"The good thing about this one is if it’s crazy Conor again, I just don’t give a f**k anymore," he told ESPN.
"I really don’t care. And in the last one too, if he’d have been crazy, I’d have been alright. Mentally, I'm just not a kid anymore.
"I'm a grown man and I know what matters and I know what I can't control. I just don't beat myself up mentally like I used to with the critics.
