Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury camps would be "idiots" to miss out on super-fight

Eddie Hearn claims Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury’s camps would be “clowns” and “idiots” if they did not a make their £200million super fight happen.

Joshua rang his promoter Hearn within hours of Fury winning the WBC heavyweight crown from Deontay Wilder to tell him to agree this all-British clash for the undisputed title.

Hearn claims both sides want this historic fight and has promised it will happen.

“Joshua phoned me yesterday,” said the Matchroom MD. “We had a good conversation on the phone and the first thing he said was ‘how do we make this fight happen?’

“Fury’s promoted by Bob Arum’s Top Rank predominantly, Frank Warren is also involved and MTK are his management company. I spoke to Top Rank and I spoke to MTK straight after the fight.

“Everybody is very clear on this. Everybody wants this fight – Anthony Joshua, Tyson Fury, MTK, Top Rank, Frank Warren, Matchroom.

“I promise you this fight will happen.

“When are we ever going to get the chance of two British world heavyweight champions fighting for the undisputed title against each other?

“It’s never happened before and it will never happen again. We’d be clowns, we’d be idiots if we didn't make this fight.”

Hearn says the mega fight could happen this year with Saudi Arabia the most-likely venue once Joshua has taken care of his IBF mandatory and Fury his expected third fight with Wilder in June.
